Thank you Bill Batson for affording me the opportunity to build this awesome rod. Also a big thank you to all of the rod builders that attend the San Diego Rod Builders Class. I used this rod last Tuesday to catch the first fish on a rod that I built, and as most of you know that is an amazing feeling.

Wow, tons of thread work. That would take me months to build! I second your sentiments on catching a fish on a self built rod. Great work!

Hey Einar... there's still more room for inlays and olive branches!

Just messing with ya, great build you have come a long way in short period of time.
Perfect example on how fast guys learned at Don's.

Thanks for all of the kind comments. I am enjoying building and using rods I have put together. I have many builds in my future and hopefully many more catches. This rod took approx 3 weeks once I decided on colors and scheme. I took my time. However, it seems that the more I build the quicker it gets. I have one on the dryer as I write this it's done, one on the wrapper and two I will static test at tomorrow's class. It's an addiction for sure.
By the way my father-in-law caught his first fish today on the rod I built for him. YFT, he was stoked!
    Tight lines
