I'm on this trip Friday night. The trip is sold out but the wind forecast looks scary. Boat leaves out of Cisco's. Anyone know at what point they decide to xnl a trip? Also, has anyone been on a trip, on that boat, in this type of weather? :Emoticon_Potty_Time

I would not have a galley tab after 2 days.
I'd be the guy with the trolling straps tied to the rail to keep me from falling over while heaving my guts out.

I would have to assume that if the weather predictions continue as posted the trip will be cancelled. Pretty tough to fish channel islands in weather like that.

I called the landing and it's still a go. I guess they are going to make the call some time around 3pm Friday. That's kinda tight, time wise, considering holiday traffic. I guess one can't ask for too much more.

The Ranger may be made for it....the problem is.... I'M NOT! Hey, watching that video is like watching JAWS for the first time just before a trip to Hawaii.

FYI, Virg's landing cancelled there two day trip this weekend because of weather. Its going to blow for a while so bring your best sick pills if you have them.

IMO, no point in being misrable on a "suppost to be fun" fishing vacation because of crappy weather. Nothing the captain or crew can be blamed for.....

If it's a go there will be at least 75% of the boat heaving during the trip. Pretty funny if you not one of them. If you are one of them it will be the worse trip you have been on and the boat can't back soon enough. Bottom line if you find fish it will be an after thought. If you don't it will be just miserable. One word of caution, after a beat up trip like this, if you get back out on the water shortly after in mild conditions, you could easily be effected again.

That's 17ft of total verticle travel every 8 seconds......

Over a 2ft of rising or falling movement every second.............

Thanks for all the input guys. I just spoke with the landing and the Gentleman 3/4 day xnld this morning. The Ranger 85 captain will make the call by 12 noon today. I hope he cancels the trip. I'm not one to get sick, but I dont think I could hold my guts in this type of weather/wind. Its not the operations fault at all. Just mother nature doing her thing.
