Hey,

Looking at building my dad an 80lb rod that can fish 100 in a pinch. What rainshadow blank would you recommended?

For rail use is BATTLELON EPDM GRIPS the best option?

Probably going to match it with a penn visx 16.

I was looking at the RCTB70XXH but was worried

Thanks

    I need a ride.
70XXH works perfect. Ive built and sold about 20 to 30 of them. Heres an example of some of the fish the XXH winched up. Some people have caught cows on them.

Forgot to mention, SaltyDawg helped design these blanks if I recall correctly. Specifically designes for the rail in socal

    Thanks for all the info.

If you don’t mind another question. What blank do you like for 60 but being able to fish 80?
    RCJB90XXH

The RCJB90XXH is an awesome 80# stick!! It can handle 100 but the sweet spot is 80#.
If you are planning on laying and sliding the RCTB rod on the rail I would recommend using Coldshrink over cork tape (CT), Coldshrink over cord over CT or slap a rail dog fore grip on it. EPDM (Battelon) rear grip.

Thank you guys. Would you recommend the following:

    100 lb - RCTB70XXH
    80 lb - RCJB90XXH

What would you recommend for 60lb?

Thanks again for all of your help.

Yes, If you want a 7.5’ 80# stick. If you want to stick with 7’ rods the RCJB84XXH is also a great 7’ 80# blank.
