I made the transition this year from being a rental only guy to acquiring my own gear. I've got some good deals buying some great, hardly used gear and a few new pieces. Aside from a big cow rig, what am I missing for the So Cal tuna/yellowtail scene? TIA!

    you got some great gear!

i would think of covering these setups:
    25-30 live bait
    40 live bait
    surface iron setup
yo-yo setup (could prolly repurpose for that setup)
    60-80 sinker/daytime jig

not sure how you plan to cover those bases, but i could guess.

Thank you! With what I have so far, I was hoping to use this stuff to cover everything until I can grab some more gear. I’ve spent a bunch already in a short period of time, so I’ll have to run what I have for now!!! This is another expensive hobby!! That said, I’m all ears as to which of these setups will do well to crossover!

    .
Use the baitcasters for throwing surface irons and get a small star drag for the 8030 like a fathom 15. That will be your light line bait setup

Copy that! That's about what I was thinking, although I've been leadering up/down with the TranX/8030 setup and it's worked well as a bait rig. Caught a handful of BFT and YT up to about 40# with it.
