Fished with Captain Lora out at Corbetena, we got 11 yellowfin with the largest around 80lb, also, a rainbow runner and a dorado. We were supposed to fish a couple more days but a tropical storm changed our plans. He has awesome gear, but I brought my Accurate Valiant 500 2-speed and Phenix 30-80 Redeye 3-piece. Very impressed with the setup, and I can fit it in my carryon! Fished the beach and my girl caught a nice houndfish on a popper. Highly recommend Fortuna Sportfishing, and they cook your catch at "El Coral" right down the street. Delicious.

Very nice. I love fishing with Captain Lora. Personally, I like the inshore stuff with him the best - fish poppers for roosters and jacks.

    Hard to beat.

You're right about that! We have 2 days with him over thanksgiving and it'll be interesting to see how it plays out. I REALLY want to make it to Cleophus for topwater, but its a family vacation so I dont think we'll be able to go overnight. November typically is not good for inshore around Mita so I'm hoping we get a good showing of tuna and can run and gun topwater for em.

Well, there is still a good shot at getting yellowfin to bite the popper right now in So. Cal. and we are getting real close to November, so I would think there should be some good fishing in Mita when you go.

How long of a trip is needed to go to Corbetena? How can I get in touch with Captain Lora. I am going to PV in October and want to charter a panga.
