I suggest heading another 70 miles down to Puerto lobos. Arturo dive and fish adventures offers one day trips. Yellowtail have been running in March.
Google Rocky point talk fishing forum. I was able to hop on a private boat and chase grouper for gas money a few summers ago. The charter operations there mainly target small reef fish, not worth the price in my opinion. A few will take you out for big grouper and seabass but it can be expensive. Lobos is the go to spot in the area for better grade fish.
Been very windy in both areas. managed to get into some small grade yellowtail. this Sunday looks promising! fantastic signs of life outside..
really? i havent seen many except little pangas that will take you out 1 mile to catch triggers. i saw theres a big boat that takes people out but he wants like $800
the pangas have no issues heading out 10-20 miles out for grouper and wsb.we see them regularly. it's the ride back in that's a lil rough....
