Do you gentlemen just use your new Bass rods straight out of the box or do you 'treat' the cork on the handle ?
Was wondering, as I have just got a brand new Quantum Bass rod with a nice cork handle and would like to preserve the cork on it for as long as possible.
    Any advise is much appreciated.
    Thank you.

PS: can I used the same stuff on my others olds rods?

Production rods should be treated. When I build rods with cork grip, I put on a coat of Thomson's Water Seal. Coats the cork with water proofing solution that helps preserve the cork keeping it from drying and chipping.
