Wow, congrats dude! Looks like it's very close to splashing. I do feel bad for your wallet though.

Hi all, Well the boat got splashed late December. I had a few small issues that needed attention mainly the starboard turbo playing up, turned out it was blocked with carbon etc now that this problem is fixed the boat is going a lot better although the starboard engine will only rev to about 3400 rpm and the port side close to 4000 rpm so still some issues to sort out, but over all I couldn't be happier with the way the boat is going its done about 300 miles now and it hasn't let me down so far.
I would love someone to chime in and give me an idea of what safe cruising rpm I should run these engines at - V/P TAMD31B 130HP I think the last owner told me he ran them at 3600 cruising and I wondered if this may be a little hi for them.

It will be work in progress for a little while I think as I get some small problems sorted but at least its in the water!

Thanks for looking.

Fine piece of work. Love you dash layout. How does she pilot with that wheel size?

You will know from the sound of the motors after a few sea trials where the sweet spot running the motors are 3200 im guessing , You are truly blessed to build and own and run such a a fine fishing machine . .You know what you have and what she is capable of and that alone keeps you at ease while fishing outer waters . always push her a little harder when your almost home from a trip last half mile or so better to have a problem close to home than outer waters . RAY SOBIECK once owner of the producer taught me that. luv n fishes to you and your crew , the calm seas. BRUCE

Thanks so much Bruce, very sound words, it certainly is a great feeling knowing where to look if something dose go wrong at sea , hopefully it never happens! I'll tell you though I can't believe how well this boat runs, its been worth all the hard work and I don't mind admitting I was over it towords the end, if it had gone
Past end of 2016 it may not have been splashed till who knows when... take care, Rowan.

I think the recommended rpm of those engines are 3,000 to 3,200. Should hit WOT of 3,900.
You did a great job on the rebuild. A true piece of art.

Hello Rowan, I have a precision 28 with the same volvo engine you have.
I would like to know what ratio is your transmission and what size props you have.
My problem, with 17"x18" propellers and 2:1 transmission and two 130hp volvos the engines can only go to 2500 rpm and 8.5 knots, trying to go more makes a lot of smoke and rpm doesn't increase.
A sister boat here, but two 170hp engines performs 24 knots with 18"x23" props.
I tried the 18"x23" props on my boat with two 130hps and now get only 2000 rpm and 7 knots.
Lots of people have work on these engines and I don't have an idea if someone changed something.
Thanks for your input
