Wow, sorry that you had to go through this. Does not look fun at all.Edema. Broke the skin by scratching.
Got infected. Didn't go to the doctor for a few months.
My sister saw it and I was in the hospital in under an hour.
They were discussing how much leg to amputate.
A year and a quarter later I'm about healed.
The pain was so intense for a while I ran out of tears.
If I had an enemy, I would not wish this upon them.
My CT Impression for the right foot:
1. Status post calcaneal osteotomy with approximately 50% bony bridging of the osteotomy site. No evidence of hardware complication. (good)
2. Healed osteotomy of proximal aspect of first metatarsal with intact hardware. (good)
3. Osteoarthritis of tibiotalar joint, posterior subtalar joint and talonavicular joint. (not good, but minor. This is inevitable result from destabilized joint)
Surgeon Notes: Status post right calcaneal osteotomy with calcaneal branch neuroma versus scar entrapment. (This is my big remaining issue causing numbness and plantar heel pain. The osteoarthritis is minor and I don't feel it.)
Plan: Candidate for neurolysis, possible calcaneal nerve repair. (translation: clean up the nerve entrapment caused by scar tissue).
