Show off.........:mad:
Maybe look at it from the perspective of me showing what's possible rather than me showing off. I've been fortunate to have some opportunities to land some great fish, and I want to show folks what's possible with the technique.

I often think about this type of comment when I post pictures or discuss the topic, as there's a fine line between showing off your catch and straight up showing off.

So, here's a story. I used to compete in long drive golf. Yeah, another random activity, I know. Anyway, I could hit the ball a long way. I don't know why, but I just could. Folks at the local driving ranges would just stop and watch, thinking holy hell, I can't believe how far he's hitting it. I thought I was pretty good in my little local bubble, and I was good enough where I even made it to the tournament before the world championships. In any event, one day I met a guy who was a legit professional long drive golfer - as in this is how he made a living. We went out to the range together and that's when I saw what a real long drive pro could do. Now I was the one standing back and thinking, holy hell, I can't believe how far he's hitting it. That's when I realized what was possible - and what I needed to to do even be competitive with them. Turned out that I didn't know what I didn't know until I was exposed to what a real professional could do.

That's what I'm trying to do here. These pics show what is possible through the technique with the time, effort and drive to get really good at it. Yes, there are certain intangibles that come into play, but with enough preparation and focus I think that most people can do way more than they think is possible, and I hope it winds up with people crushing their personal bests, whatever that may be.

Benny;
Relax. I was trying to be funny. Maybe it didn't come across like that.
I wish we had some decent fish like that here. My buddy and I fished on Tuesday.....and we totally stunk it up. If we have another day like it I will try to take pictures. If the camera on my phone has a macro setting o_O

I must have caught 4 or 5 fish that were half the length of the jig I was using. Like I said we stunk it up.....or maybe we actually achieved something????
It is probably harder to pinpoint these tiny little fish than it is to spot those big beasts you caught. If so then we are very, very good at this game.
Regards, Jeff

If you're looking for what's possible on the other end of the spectrum, say no more.. Got that covered too 😂:

Damn.......beat both ways! You are good. I take my hat off to you.

Funny story. Many years ago an old buddy of mine was dragging a very large Marlin lure in the Sea of Cortez. It was a slow day until the late afternoon when he saw a huge billfish come up in the spread. Sure enough the monster took a whack at his gigantic lure. It pulled for a moment and then it was gone. When he reeled his line in to check the jig there was an enormous eye ball on the hook. He said it was bigger than a baseball.

Benny;
We have not been able to get a bite going to save our lives. 2 1/2 hours on Wednesday and one small whitefish....... Can't figure it out. Spots that normally hold some fish are like the dead sea this year????
Then I see this. Gag me with a spoon is all I can say. :p
