    I stumbled upon a system that works well for me for keeping track of my gear. I have a backpack tackle box. I put that thing on, carry my duffle in one hand, my rods w reels in the other and am off the boat with everything - straight to my truck. I never planned it that way, just really liked the backpack tackle box when I saw it at Melton years ago. And, I only carry 3 or 4 rod/reel combos. So, that works. My fishing buddy has one of those heavy, gray, monolithic boxes that are so popular. Could bust your jewels carrying that thing, alone.
