    This trip had 7 on it and was not going to go at 5pm the day before It was due to go. I called twice. Offered to buy 2 tickets if they would be guaranteed to go and go for bft at least one day, but that was a no on both counts. If it ran with 20, then they weren't all full paying clients. This is the info the landing provided.

    BAD JUJU! As one who'd known former owner/Captain Mike Bullard since our
    days together on Thuderbird then Pacific Star (Now the Poseidon) at Davey's Locker,
    and many albacore trips for years out of Seaforth....THAT SUCKS! Fastest
    way to lose paying customers screw them loading the boat with "friends and freeloaders" .
    Even if they paid something, sounds like a lot of "preferred treatment" from the crew?
    IF that was the case, it sucks. I've met new owner Keith, stand up guy.Contact Him or Nichole?
    Doubt that would of happened With Mike and Chris Bullard. They ran a good business too.
    Sounds like you got the runaround and lied to. There are plenty of choices in boats down there.
    Maybe better trip next time LOL That deckhand helping deadhead buds shit happens a lot.
    After years of wide open Albacore fishing, I realized it's an every man for himself joke now! LOL

    I absolutely agree with you, but again, if we don't know or weren't informed there was a problem, we can't fix it or make it right which would absolutely do. I will be talking with my son Hunter when comes in from the trip he's out on right now.

    Thank you Jerry. I appreciate your feedback. The captain and crew work very hard as you know and want nothing more than to make a great catch for our customers and show them a great time on the water. I have been out fishing with my husband Keith on the Constitution both here in San Diego and PV and have seen first hand how hard they work not to mention the long hours put in and then when fishing is slow, how disappointed they are when the fish don't want to bite. Nobody wants to catch fish more for our customers than the captain and the crew.

    The crew, myself and the landing made phone calls to see if we could get more customers on the boat up until about 2:00pm that day and with all of that effort, we got more people to come out. Yes they were paying customers. We wanted to get off the dock and take our customers fishing.

    just tossing out the important stuff of what I got out of the OP rant. I hope that when I'm 71, I'll be working full time at minimum wage.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    who told the OP that there were 11 deadheads? the skipper? one of the crew? one of the deadheads? oh there were no deadheads
    I've been known to tip 43 cents on a $43 dinner. and to tip a boat crew under 10% if the crew wasn't up to par.
    5 pages of crap based on gossip... GOD DAMNED RUSSIANS!!!!!
    I can't answer these questions as I was not out on the boat and Hunter is out on a trip right now. We have 2 deckhands on the boat, Chase and Freddy. I will be talking to Hunter, Chase, Freddy and Andrew, our second captain to find out this information.
    no knock on the OP...I'm that old too :D...but when you fish open party, you go with the flow. Freeway speed sign says 65...do you get in the left lane and go 65, or bump it to 75/80 to keep your ass from getting run over. "Friends" getting a hot bait...ask for one. Someone crowds in front of you at the bait well...only once. Move at the rail "with" everyone else...call out over or under. This is not a charter of old friends...it's a open fishing trip. It doesn't mean you have to go full on combat...but YOU need to be on your best game...and you need to be IN the game.
    If everyone paid on the trip...then I see this as a non issue. Maybe the deckies need a refresher on equal good treatment for all, but beyond that....deep breaths.
    I’ve never been on the boat....but I’ve been on my fair share of “less than optimal” boats.
    I agree...if there’s an issue on a boat...I have no problem going straight to the bridge....and letting the cap know.
    But....most likely....I’d let the deckhand know I am having an issue with his/her disposition toward others on the boat.
    Typically....the treatment turns around rather quickly, and fishing resumes.
    But...some people are averse to confrontation....this is where it gets all gummed up....because posts like this start.
    I’d rather bring up an issue, while on the boat...so it gets addressed or not, then start a post like this. The business deserves an opportunity to rectify an on the water issue.
    My 2 cents.
    Well, I am a Momma Bear, but no. We will have a conversation and get their side of the story. If any one of them is in the wrong, they will tell me and learn from it so that service can be improved if need be.
    Thank you for your response. I honestly don't think that any of our crew are unapproachable. This is what we are all here for, to provide our customers with good customer service. If any of the crew knew there was problem, it would have been handled immediately.
    I’m sure the crew are all nice and capable people....some people just may have a hard time with confrontation.
    I typically fish only fish the RR3....and all trips begin like this:
    Andy cates: if there is any issue anyone may be having on the trip...PLEASE come directly to me, and I’ll work on getting it fixed.
    This simple pre fishing statement seems to work well. I guess it gives a comfortable avenue of recourse for any customers.
