with all the boats booked for the long weekend, the Point Loma out of Point Loma had some spots available which I took advantage of. I wanted to get my brother on his first tuna, yellow or dodo...anything bigger than a cuda, so this seemed like the right time and boat to jump on. glad we did cus the deckhand Andrew, the lady in the galley Marie and the skipper Tony, we very nice and helpful. they looked very tired but they were never rude...lots of first timers on that boat including my brother and we all did pretty good. my brother caught a yellow, a yft and a dodo. the bait was okay and the fishing was good....no complaints. boat can only handle 20 people so I thought it would be a perfect boat for someone like my brother to learn how to fight and land fish. needless to say, he's hooked and now wants to go on an overnighter...good times!!!
highly recommend the boat to anyone.

Not sure, but the captain was slim guy.
he was out there helping gaff fish...cool crew. I could tell those guys have been running non-stop for a while.
a trifecta on your first outing is pretty amazing...it took some time before I landed my first dodo....

Captain Steve Peterson used to Captain that vessel, One of my favorite 3/4 day boats...He would always point out of his wheelhouse on drifts where to cast and whammy big time on his advice..Even brought a big eye to the boat once!!! Glad the boat still has a good rep

Good to hear. I have it chartered Saturday and my buddy is bringing his wife and a couple others that are virgins to the sea. I know they are tired and hope they catch a second wind for us. Marie (sister) had just taken several days off sick before the weekend. They, like everybody else have been running non-stop.

They will be ready! We chartered that boat a couple o weeks ago (8/13) and what an Epic trip! 3/4 day on a Wed. and I have to admit I was a lil skeptical upon first meeting Capt. Tony as to just how hard he would charge, all doubts soon removed!!! Started out with a couple of pattys a couple of yellowtail but we kept moving then he found the YFT and that crew kept them there all day! Even the cook was chuming for about three hours. That whole crew worked their asses off. We had at least 3 fish on line that whole 5-6 hr stop. Excellent Boat and crew (best boat burger I ever had). Good Luck to you and Enjoy!!!

After this year there is going to be a lot of new fisherman that will be in for a rude awaking when when the off years return. Hopefully that won't be few years down the road.

Thanks. I'll let Marie know you liked her burger! They are good!
I've fished the Mission Belle a few times but not the Point Loma. Tony ran the MB last time we went out. That was an island trip though.

Good to hear the newbies were treated so well on the boat. Getting a trifecta was not called for though......He is hooked for life!
