Left SD bay at 530 solo and grabbed an awsome scoop and headed to the zone in great sea conditions. I couldn't buy a bite on the sinker rig or deep jigs but was able to get a few bites on flyline 30 and 40lb with size 2 circle hooks.

I went 2 for 6 and got smoked twice on the 30lb that both broke off after some long battles. Water temps ranged from 68 closer to the islands and 63 to 65 in the zone that held the tuna. Good luck and stay safe!

Great report. Piloting your own private boat is rewarding when you bring along a friend or 3 but fishing solo is it's own intimate experience. From launching, searching, navigating, rigging. Gaffing, processing, cleaning, retrieving, it is a very busy day.
I'm hard pressed to recall a more rewarding 'fishing' adventure.
