Was going to fish along the shore because it looked slow paddy hopping, Not.

I saw a post in the morning stating, signs of life 6-8M from OS inshore, Dorado and YT. After fishing today I took a look at the thread again, the OP posted later - fishing paddies within 20M. Oh well.

Took off from DP after loading up with some nice macks. Straight out 10M, paralleled the coast south to past the domes, u-turn and head back 8M out still parallel and back to the point. Trolled cedar daisy chains for about 2.5 hours. Did not see a paddy the entire 51M trip. Water was blue and warm (72 degrees) right off the DP 5M out and further. Kind of green at the domes and south (70 degrees).Green water could be slowing down the northern flow of fish. Changes constantly. Very gray in the morning AGAIN so I could not find any salad. When the sun comes out the orange paddies stand out in the clear blue water.

Dock was uncrowded, got some great video of some playful Dolphin, saw a killer whale, water was smooth, skiff ran great - 4.5M a gallon, happy yet fishless.

Stick with the plan next time.

    Good luck!

I think the second post is 2x.

the SLIDER is a 16 ft aluminum skiff and works well even when it gets rough; like a cork in the water. 25HP 2 stroke that is 25 years old and goes about the same mph at top speed, cruises at about 17 mph if conditions allow.

Have two bait tanks, a small one on the back that holds as many macks as you can pack - anchovies 1/4 scoop. The other is a 25 gallon I rarely use. (I never buy bait).

The skiff has a couple rod holders, two batteries, fixed marine radio, fish finder, mounted hand held GPS, hand marine radio, bilge pump, basic rod holders for trolling, all the safety stuff. For catching bugs and bait at night, off-road light bars that light up the entire water below.

My fishing videos can be seen @ https://multimediabylj.com/

If anyone wants help or ideas on how to set up a skiff I would love to help.
