Anyone know or can we make a list of places where one call pull up on a boat, dock, and eat in so cal?

Always wanted to do it when not really fishing and taking family out.

Would like to know of places to do something like that.

Here is a list from the below messages in case others ever are looking for a place to eat.

    Chowder Barge
    Schooner or Later
Yard house, Tequilla Jacks, Parker Light House
    Seaside village

    Huntington Harbor:
    Peters Landing
    Captain Jacks

    Newport:
Blue Water Grill, The Cannery, Woodys Wharf, The dock

    Santa Barbara:

HAHA I was literally Googling this today. There are few in Newport but I was looking for some in Long Beach.

In Newport there is Blue Water Grill, The Cannery, Woodys Wharf and there is another place called The Dock but I have never been there.

There are a handful inside of alamitos bay at marina Pacifica and the shopping center immediately as you enter the bay, both with docks open to the public. Between those two locations there are probably 10+ restaurants and bars. Hell at marina Pacifica you could pull your boat up and go grocery shopping or go to the movies even.

There is a public wharf outside of Malarkeys and Ballast Point at the mouth of Alamitos Bay. If the wind is blowing, you boat is going to get hammered so make sure your bumpers are properly adjusted. Newport has a ton of places but the docks are small and only have room for a few boats. Sol is a good spot and I usually don't have an issue tying up there.

Yeah, sucks cuz it's not like Florida here.

At my home port, Dana Point, there's space for 2 boats to do that. Not much point to it.

    In HH :
    - Peters Landing has 4 guest slips right in back of Pelican Isle
    - Captain Jacks - smaller dockage and a tight channel but the best king crab in the world

Been to several of the location mentioned. It's a great way to spend the day with family and friends when not fishing.

Note to newbs and the clueless.....don't tie up in the middle of an empty dock. Pull/walk your boat up as close as you can to the boat in front of you. Even share a cleat if needed.

If people would learn how to dock, and tie up, it would be nice. 20-foot boat ties up in the middle of the dock, 12-foot dingy tied up 10 feet down, or boats leave 6-8 feet of space between each other.

I have arrived, and there would be room for several small boats, or a big tank if people would only think about how much space they just used up.

I don't like doing it, but I have put people on the dock, and shifted boats forward so that I can get on the dock.

Wow..Chowder barge. I havn't been there in 30 years. I went to their website and they limit docking boat size to 18 ft. I'm gonna have to stop by.
