Anyone used one? Thinking about getting this or a cork puppy. The Allen heads seem like they would be uncomfortable.....

Yeah I have both the pit bull clamp and cork puppys. The cork puppy is easy to put on and stable. The pit bull is very tight and solid the only problem with it is there's six Allen screws and its hard to put on while on a boat. I also over thight two of them and they got a little bent I called Accurate and they charged me $8.00 to for two screws.

I have pit bulls on my 400 and 500 on butt cord 8' rods. They are the bomb. Yes, they take a little time to put on but, once in place = total security and stability.

X2. More difficult to mount but nothing more dependable.

wondering if you can replace the Allen heads with conventional screws?

Ace Hardware has them. They are called machine screws, they are stainless, and cost .25 cents.

You're a funny guy Kurt. You probably already know that won't work as the normal machine head screws bump into the clamp before you can properly cinch it down .
