NICE FISH Jonathan, and great report and pics! BEAST
Epic Great read and post.
Fuck yeah! Nice fish.
This story make my back ache!
Yea baby yea!
water looks nice, where did you find it. everywhere I have heard dirty water. went out couple days ago and saw it for myself.
There are a lot of fish still living in that dirty water along with the chove. i saw this first hand this week. Unbelievable the fish are staying in that water. Bigger fish over a hundred are def in the cleaner water it seams but less volume and def a little more skiddish.
NICE!!! That's a story you can tell you grandkids, and they'll want to hear it over and over again.
Popper don't work!
Thanks for the post
Killin it! Phenix M180MH is my favorite rod ever! I've landed striper, bass, salmon lings. But, damn would nerve think to throw it for cow tuna! You got balls my friend!
Thank you for the compliments guys, I cannot believe I landed the three and this week I landed a Cow. This is just insane!
congrats... Epic couple of weeks for sure... Can't believe I still haven't gotten out there for this bite....
Way to persevere!
Nice job.....memories for a lifetime there.
The fish sure don't mind the off colored water I leaned this while fishing the gulf off Louisiana we were fishing the oil rigs 10 miles out when 80lb yellowfin came through and hammered us in brown brackish water. This has happen here off of our coast all season where there is bait the fish will venture, they will hot hesitate to enter the dirty water to feed. I read a post somewhere earlier this year where the guys were amazed when the fish were entering the dirty water off the coronado islands. These fish have been coming back to our zone for the past 5 years and are like our local yellowtail. They are almost like homeguard Bluefin they just venture in their back yards and go wherever the bait is. Also remember the water might be dirty up top but what bout 50-100' below the surface?
Get out there and purchase a subscription of fish dope if you do not have one yet. It will help out tremendously I do most of my homework and fishing before I leave the dock.
I was not planning to fish the pig tuna on this gear nor every thought I would be able to land something of this magnitude on the gear. Luck has been on my side lately.
I think my back is going to be permanently sore for the rest of the season.
