Something new from Phenix just out This year. Don't know much about them except that they're carbon fiber/Sglass composites similar to the Phenix Abyss. They run all the way into the cow weight rods like the Phenix Hybrids. You'd have to go down and pull on them and make up your own mind.

I'm curious as well. My dad won one on his 10day that he's on so I'll see how it is in a week.

All,

Well built rod blank! Has a great feel. Combination of carbon fiber and S-glass makes this rod well balanced.

I'm back from my 10 day and used the Axis rod I won on the boat. It's the HAX 820H, 8'2", rated 25-60. I used it for 40# bait and it felt nice. Should work with surface iron too. I took 10 rods, 8 of which were Phenix and then added another on the boat!

I also own the HAX 820H factory rod. Trimmed out very nice and great action! I would call it fast but moderately fast. Overall this rod is heavier than the other Phenix lines but probably due to the s-glass used in the construction. So far only caught little football y-fin on it but no problem of course. Go pull on one as Jim suggested.
