Filling up one for the first time with Berkley X9 Braid.

Got 400 yards of 40lb on the reel with room for a short topshot.

The X9 is impressive. 40lb listed 59lb ABS. .25mm diameter or 12b mono.

The reel has excellent free spool. 33lb max drag and 38in retrieve in high gear.

Two more great products from Pure Fishing.

Completely different product than Prospec.

It has a solid Dyneema Core with 8 strands of Dyneema wrapped around the solid core.

Many tests with the PR and FG knot the knot strength is coming in around 86% of the ABS.

The line is super small in diameter, smooth, roundish and very strong.

Unfortunately, I only have one of them, so folks have to pry it out of my hands to give it a spin!

You think this would be ok for a wahoo reel or a 25n
For bait it would be fine. For iron or bombs the Torque 25n star drag is a much better choice, faster retrieve and I like a longer 50lb mono top shot for wahoo on the iron which the 15 won’t handle with enough backing

I used a friends 15xnld 2 on our trip to the Lupe in Early Dec and caught an 80lb yellowfin on it. Handled it with no problem

I am taking a 15xnld2 on my Excel trip next week. So far, I have been extremely happy with it. I use it locally for slow pitch jigging.
