I have a Penn International 30S two speed that I have filled with 100lb line. I have a rod with a wide reel seat and would like to change the foot on the reel to fit the rod. Is there compatible parts I can purchase for this? I am not sure of any other way to make a tight fit. Any information would be appreciated.

    Thanks

what size reel seat you are referring too a 30s has no problem mating with a #22 to #24 size reel seat or a # 2 aluminum aftco or equivlant. The reel will never seat tight on a #28 reel seat or a #6 aluminum butt. Maybe you should get a rod for that reel class like a 30# -80# hope this helps.

The reel foot on the 30 is standard. The old 50 SW the rod was built for has a wider foot on it and the reel seat on the rod is stamped W to accomodate the wider flanges on the seat. The 30 foot does not fill the W openings front and rear.
