This is my first post after being on here for a long time.

Usually, I fish on my boat out of Dana Point. But a few times a year I am on a charter with friends.
I spent this past couple days on the Pegasus with 18 friends/family. I would say that at the least 12 out of the 18 had little to no experience fishing salt(rent rod trip).
When all was settled, I can confidently say WOW!

Some bullet points(I hate writing and/or posting).

:Crew performed amazing with the fishermen/kid we had on board, We worked together really well but as you would expect with a lot of newer fishermen there were issues to deal with. The crew made it simple and painless. Nothing but massive kudos to them!

: Captains put us on the fish and early. We had limits of buluefin by 10am. Went on the hunt for yellowfin and found about 8. Add one yellowtail to the mix.

: THE COOK WAS AMAZING. I have been on many trips. Mostly 1.5 to 2.5 day trips and he is by far the best cook do date. I would rebook this boat just for the cook.

Summary, great fishing with friends, great food and great service.

That is if for me.
GO GET EM!!!!

Hell yeah. That’s a great trip.
I remember the time I took my nephew with us on a charter and we absolutely killed it. WSB, yellows, and a ton of rockfish and lings. I told him “this is a great trip that’s not to be expected every time you go out”
Sound like y’all had a great time

We need more kids to be interested. Its tough to get involved in this considering the cost.

I agree. But we have to get them out and learn that fishing is not catching. And when the catching is good. Take advantage. Even if others get Butt hurt because they slept to long and I caught your limits. 😂

If you limit that early. Do you still fish the entire rest of the day?
Almost always YES, but for different things. I have been on trips where the captain returned early because the whole party was satisfied and tired, but mostly there has been a paddy hunt or a rockfish drop or something.
