    Hey BD

Been thinking of getting a better rod for my fathom for bait and heavier jigs. Has 65# izor to the brim for mostly 40# leaders. I really like this rod and especially the price point. I’ve seen good opinions out there but my question is for anyone with the fathom specifically. 7 or 8ft? H or XH? What specifically do you like?

Application will mostly be open party boats with the occasional friends Parker. Yellowtail easy but for schoolie tuna etc.

I’m going to try to pick something up at FH Del Mar.

    Thanks everyone!

    I went with a 7' XH for my 25NLD2.
I use a 7'6" H for a Komodo 463 and wanted a little extra grunt for those October / November Bluefin trips we had last year. So I went with the XH.
I really like the PCH rods

We'll probably be able to find most things I imagine. I have a question that probably has an obvious answer. If say, I buy the rod outside of the show at a local retailer that morning, can I bring the receipt to the Okuma booth for the bonus gear or does the rod have to be purchased on site to get that stuff? In this case the extra jigs.

I think it only applies for rods bought at the show

I use my PCH 7’6”H as a 40lb rod myself. Couple years ago I even used it to throw Tady “C” in a pinch on a wide open yellow tail drift. Caught a nice Dodo that pulled 10lbs of drag, Rod felt fine! IMO I have the 7’6” Xh as my 50lb. Both using braid to short leaders and 25% drag.

Turners Booth has a Terramar for $114 that will fit the bill nicely. Have 3 models 20-40, 30-60 and 40-80. I would take the 30-60 for that Fathom and 40#. Might be all gone by now but worth a look.

Yeah I’m going to look for an 8 or 7’6” XH at the show next week. Hopefully some around on Thursday.

Cool. Call Jamie @ Bob Sands or Mark @ Charkbait for 20% discount on PCH as they are very Generous on Deals especially on FHS Season.

If it doesn’t work call Tackle Direct and ask for 20% Off on PCH....so far I never paid full price on my PCH’s...from $140sh on MH-XH to $219 on XXH Rail Rod. Goodluck!

For those of you that went to Long Beach, were the deals about the same across the show or did one vendor stand out on the PCH’s?

IMO, I feel the PCH rods fish the bottom end their ratings best.

    I bought a 801mh 15-40 for 20lb on a Lexa 400 and wish I had gotten an H after fishing it.

    Also have a 74xxh 60-100 and feel it’s a 60lb rod.
