Did some local fishing the other day with a buddy out of SD. Saw some red crab swimming around and dropped a red tube from my buddy pete (Redrum Baits). After one pop off the bottom got ripped on the bass gear. Curado EJ with a 25# leader. After a 45 minute battle and moving the boat around finally saw the Noble Croaker circling his way up. My first legal seabass. Official scale weight was 36.5# ... the scale is humbling- could have sworn it was a 50 pounder!

That’s a pig bro. Especially for your first.
Your gonna be chasing the “noble croakers” for the rest of your life now.
    Congrats

Under any circumstances, that's a nice fish. On bass gear, it's truly exceptional. Frame that picture; you won't get many like it.

Haha, yea Andrew that was an epic battle.

You kicked its ass, did everything right and brought that baby to gaff. On a small baitcaster hopscotching through lobster pots and pulling hawg past that evil knothead.

I remember telling ya that putting that beast on a scale can be humbling.

Funny how many pics of 50 pounders i roll my eyes, cause ive scaled plenty enough fish to know that a 36 properly weight scaled fish is damned impressive catch.

Advantage PB. Nearly impossible to do that anchored up on a Sporty.

When I target larger models in the kelp I always tie off a kelp stringer, just in case I need to give chase.

Great job on catching a Biscuit on bass gear.
