    Hi guys,

I'm looking for a party boat recommendation for 5-10 guys on a 1.5/2 day trip at the end of July. We'll be coming down from Norcal and would prefer a Friday departure.

What kind of fish are biting at the end of July?

    Thanks

    kevin

You have just opened up a huge can of worms and you will get a "plethera"of recommendations and comments. In My opinion, my favorite boat in this range would be the First String, very comfortable ,wide beam and I love the second deck picnic tables for kickin back and enjoying the ride. You should have a good shot at yellowtail, tuna and maybe dorado if the water warms significantly.

Top gun 80, islander, pac voyager, sea adventure 80, ranger 85 many more but don't feel like writing them. I would expect albies, yellowtail, bluefin a crapshoot though, dodos and may be yellowfin if the temps are high

If the VAGABOND has a trip that fits your schedule I would jump on it, Mike Lackey is a fish magnet, and a great guy.

That time of year, and leaving Friday night I would look at boats sailing from Seaforth Landing in Mission Bay. The parking sucks at the big 3.

Easy answer.... open party 2 day trips..in July ... Seaforth Landing .. boat = Outer Limits... not alot of open party boats in the 1.5 - 2 day range available leaving friday nights in july. Outer limits has trips available now.

Looks like you aren't sure how many people, what days you'll be down and how long you want to fish.

Your best bet it to check the Open Party schedules at all the landings and go from there. Narrow down to a few boats that will work then ask us which boats we prefer and why.

Anyone can throw out the name of a boat they prefer but does that work with YOU and YOUR GROUP.

I too come from northen california to fish SD waters. You really need to check out the Tracer. Captain Tommy Scherl is a fishing mad man. He will put you guys on fish. www.tracersportfishing.com He is a good guy. All food in included in the price of his charters and the tracer is a really fishy boat. Good crew who like to have fun.
