BD Team,

Was looking for some help from the group. Going to be selling my Parker in the next month or two as I just made an offer on a larger Cabo. Wanted to see what people thought a fair price would be for the boat. I have not seen another Parker deep V Hull diesel sell and don’t know where to price it. Any help would be appreciated.

1999 Parker XLD Deep V with Bow Pulpit. Less than 700 Hours on a 4.2L D-tronic Diesel made by Cummins Inboard/Outboard. No oil leaks and had a full inspection done on the motor and was told it is like new. I have recently added:

-20 hp Yamaha kicker with Garmin control that integrates with plotter and remote control
-Garmin 7616xsv Chartplotter with two types of chirp transducers
-4’ Garmin open array radar
-Garmin vhf radio with AIS integrated into Chartplotter
-85 gallon live well with tow separate tank and led lights
-Life raft and canister
-Garmin auto pilot
-Satellite radio
-Rupp outriggers

I’m taking the great care of the boat and she is a fishing machine. Let me know your thoughts and appreciate your help!!

which coast you are located will effect your sale price: based on your set up, I'm going to guess west coast: Pacific Ocean. They fetch a little higher price than east coast.
I will go on a limb and state that the diesel is less desirable than an outboard. Outboards would depend a higher price.
The other thing going against the seller is the vintage of the hull: 22 years old ( 2021 models are being sold now): The biggest problem w/ the year of the boat is the fuel system, specifically the fuel tank: It has reached its useable lifespan, and is going to need to be replaced sooner than later ( most likely).

Your electronics package IS desirable. You didn't mention a trailer, so I assume the boat is slipped with no trailer. I would put a fair market value of $45K-$55K on the package ( that's high end). But, it's worth what a buyer is willing to pay for it:

IF you are going to sell, today is the time: Used boat marker is crazy high right now, and people are buying them: I think that bell curve has started to come over the apex and is settling in. I don't know how much longer this sellers bubble will last.

Nov. 3, 2020 will also effect the used and new boat market: If the current president is re-elected, I think we'll see similar to increased discretionary spending.

If a new president is elected, I think frivolous purchases will slow down or halt.

Finally, that diesel motor will depend a specific buyer, not your average weekend warrior.

Anywho.....just my 0.02.

Great advice, thank you for your input and I agree with everything you said. I was actually thinking of listing it at $50k too. Maybe I end up getting less but it’s a good starting point thank you again.

I bought my 2000 DVSC with the same engine package in 2004 for 50k back east and had it shipped out. I was offered 80k before it came off flatbed. Its since been repowered with a 310 Volvo D6 but I would expect as good as condition your rig is in you'll get somewhere around 50k. If you have kept it in the water l'd get the tank inspected to rule out immediate issues.

Good Luck. You don't see many Parker diesels anymore and those in the know snap them up quickly.

I would try $55,000 or best offer, as used Parkers are in high demand at present. You might also contact some boat brokers who can look at their boat bluebooks for a close estimate of value/price. Higher and you might want to let them deal with the lookie-loos by listing with them....First, I would post on Craigslist and the fishing sites if getting max cash-out is your goal...you can always drop the price if a buyer doesn't pop up quickly...

Thank you for the advice, would love to see some pictures of yours if you have any available. Sad to see mine go but need a little more space with my family!

Are you on the west coast? I have a commercial crab buddy that loves my 2520 but mine has twin outboards which would not work for hydraulic pot hauler. So he would be looking for this boat. Probably doesn’t need any of the fishing equipment but I could! I will let him know about this boat. Let me know where you’re located and what you are asking. Thanks!
