Looking for some advice on a Suzuki re-power. Boat is a Florida boat. I've owned the boat with my boat partner since '17. It's an '03 with original twin 150 HPDI's. Currently with approx 1100hrs. Engines will run great then at times they are finicky. Still trying to trouble shoot one that has one cylinder with low compression so we can fish until the new motors are in.

We decided that we want to re-power with Suzuki's. Should we stay with 150's or move up to 200's? I'm figuring loaded for fishing is pushing 9-10k lbs. Drive by wire engines and there's a $6k difference. I'm thinking of just going with 200's. Also what props would you put on them? I've got a deposit down with Smitty and need to decide today. Thx for any input.

I'd think you'd have to go to the 200s to see any sort of gain, right? The HDPIs are probably more powerful than the I-4 150s. Would really help resale too.

I have an 03 2520 with 2019 F200's that are great on the boat. Usually can cruise around 20-22 knots at 3200-3600 rpm's. Best fuel economy I've gotten was 2.2 but typically when I'm fully loaded or there is choppy water (which is most of the time) I get 1.6-1.8 mpg. I bought the boat with the engines so I don't have a comparison to others. I'll have to look at my props to see what they are and I also think my engines could be mounted one hole higher on the bracket. They seem pretty low being mounted in the top hole. But it does follow the 1" up for every 12" from the transom formula, so they will probably stay at that the current mounting location.

No experience with the 25’ parker or Suzuki. But I always hought twin 200 would be a pretty sweet combo on a 2520. I bet it would feel like a new boat!
