I was thinking about re-powering my Parker 2520 DV with a Mercury 300 or a Yamaha 300. Thought? Btw the boat only has a single engine transom. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I guess it's a Ford vs Chevy but most around here prefer Yamaha.
Hard to beat their reliability and we have great service techs in Socal .
Not saying anything bad about Mercs.

Either way you go, it will be nice to have a brand new motor with warranty hanging off the back of that nice rig .

first consideration is: who made the engine platform and what is it rated at, h.p. wise? Next, which brand has qualified mechanics near you? Yamaha usually has more dealers and mechanics in Southern CA....something to consider in planning for future needs....
