Pacific Queen Preperation

So I have a 1.5 day trip aboard the Pacific Queen on June 4th and I just wanted to make sure that I have all the gear covered.


Phenix M1 inshore/shimano tranx 400-50lb braid 20-25lb topshot

Daiwa Proteus/shimano torium 16-50lb braid 30lb topshot

Phenix Abyss/avet G2 sx-50lb braid 30lb topshot

Phenix Abyss/okuma tesoro 10- 65lb braid 40lb topshot

Phenix Black Diamond/shimano speedmaster 12ii-65lb braid 50lb topshot

assortment of circle hooks, surface irons, yo-yos, coltsnipers, flat falls, zakana jigs, etc.

I am also thinking about renting and 80lb outfit, but I would make that decision when the trip comes closer. I know the trip is still a month away and the fishing can totally switch up, but that's why I would bring a variety of different setups. Let me know what you guys think and if I need to add anything.

My 2 cents worth, you need a 60# topshot rig for daytime flatfalls/knife jigs + a 60/80 rig for sinker rig + an 80/100 rig for night time flat falls. I'm going on Shogun May 19-23 watch for my trip report I will provide as much detail as possible good/bad/ugly!

Thank you for the tips. I’m hoping to get a 60/80lb setup and a 100lb setup by the end of next year. I will check the counts and I’m hoping for u to do good on your trip! I was on the ocean odessey last weekend. No tuna but I got 9 yellows

You can always rent one or both! If your out their and the biggins are biting and you don't have the gear, Your going to be one sorry person

I would have 60 and 80 outfits JIK or just an 80. In fact if I only had 1 big outfit it would be 100# with premium floro!

That's why I am going to most probably rent an 80lb outfit, but as the trip gets closer I can decide if I really need to or not.
