Thanks for the timely report Mark. I was on the trip as well. Mark summed it up. I did catch one during the day on the sk glow pink 180g. Another passenger caught some on the same jig during the day as well. I ended up with 4. 1 the first night. 1 during the day and 2 at the very end. Reflecting back, seemed they bit well roughly every twelve hours.

do you know if moonset/rise and tide changes coincided with some of the every 12 hour periods the fish were biting?

I was on the boat I caught a few on SK jigs in the daytime but nighttime was way better.I too was not happy about the wait.I don’t understand why they didn’t tag my fish immediately I Have never seen fish lay on the deck and not get tagged as the fish varied from 18-40 pounds.A few of my fish were gaffed on the bow and when I went back to the stern I saw quite a few un tagged fish and nobody around confusion is not good.I can’t complain about the captains friends we paid for 25 people but waiting for them to show up sucks.I liked the bunk and the food the crew just didn’t seem too friendly to me except for the captain who was stuck cooking

Right on man. It was certainly a grind it out type of trip. It definitely stung a bit to see all the other boats out there land so many 100+lb fish.

Sometimes things can get hectic, especially at night. But I agree, a little more coordination would’ve been nice for sure. Sometimes you try out a new boat and the operation isn’t to your liking, and that’s fine. On to the next one.

If you only need and yes on to the next one my comments where my opinion maybe not shared by everyone but if I was the captain of the boat I would gaff a fish tag it or tell the customer to tag there own I’ve been told that but I would never leave fish un tagged especially when it appeared to a lot of people five or six people who showed up late where with the boat.

When you have several fish just laying on the deck untagged, you just grab your tag number and staple it to the largest bluefin…….
