My wife and I will be going to the PCS show again this year. We went last year and had a great time. Looks like the show will be bigger than last year. We will be there Sat. morning when the doors open. I fly in from PV Friday night after a 3.5 day fishing trip aboard the No Tuna No Chinga and meeting my wife at the airport where my car will be parked from my trip. Hope to run into some of you at the show this year.

I'm flying down from AK Friday night (to pick up my vehicle that blew its engine on my way home after my 12 day in December! Long story...)...

And will be there Saturday at opening as well! First time for me at any of those big shows.

A few days of indecision and I finally decided to go for it. Thursday morning I’ll drive down, do the show and then grab a bargain motel room, maybe up in Tustin. Get up and go to the show again on Friday for a few hours and bail out, head home.

Just found a great rate on a room at the Vagabond Inn for just under $80.

You know what that means… I can afford to buy a beer! ;) See you there.

Really the only purchase I need to make is some braid. Replacing several hundred yards of 80# Torotamer Hollow. It’s fine for pulling hard and you can get a lot of it on your reels. But my big tuna fishing is not going to be for Bluefin but for Yellowfin and that environment down at Hurricane Bank can be very harsh. So, I’m looking at alternatives, line that I can purchase and spool up myself. Opinions and advice from some professionals do not touch on an apparent serious bargain. Looking for real world experience with Momoi Gen 3 Hollow, 80# or 100#.

Make sure you hide anything worth stealing. Bunch of dope fiends all up and down that area. Pretty much unavoidable anywhere you go anymore.
Yeah, I’ll be checking in after I get a burger for dinner. Will stick around until I leave the next morning to motor down to Charkbait.

Hey Steve, I bought a spool of Momoi Gen 3 hollow braid #100 and the line performed adequately as far as fishing wise but splicing applications does not compare to Torotamer spectra. The Momoi Gen 3 spectra does not open up so well. You can still splice with it but just takes a little more time and attention to do so. I;ve found ToroTamer to be alot easier to work with when splicing. Just my two cents.

Anyways, I'll be at the show Thursday. Looking forward to see everyone there!

    MOMOI doesnt make braided line.

You are buying Diamond braid not "MOMOI" Diamond Braid. No where on the label does it say MOMOI.

The 100 can be a nightmare to splice. The 80 is too thick in diameter.

It has an attractive price point.

John, I’m very appreciative of your participation here. I’ve learned so much from our conversations. I think we’re all better off having you and of course Basil, sharing your knowledge and experience here.

Talking me through tackle decisions, priceless. :) If anybody needs help with information on reel capacities, John and Basil record capacities of reels they spool up as well as which brand and # test used, and they share that information with each other as well as make it available to anglers. Examples: Basil, BX2600N, 600 yards 60# Cortland C-16, Mak15T, 500 yards 80# Berkeley Pro Spec. Perfect!

So, do you get there early to wait in line, or show up at 1:00? ;)

Hold off on that beer for a minute, by the time you get through with the resort fees and other add ons you will be up to a $140.00 per night
