Maybe you did not properly convey your feelings to the capt.......you sure did a crappy job here.
I know guys that just came back from a 3 day and caught most of the tuna 11 miles from the pt.

As for the Tribute, I haven't fished it since it was the Holiday and ran by Steve but it sure seems like they have VERY respectable counts day in and day out.
You didn't catch a fish.......did you? Butt hurt?

What Dan said. This guy is a legend I grew up watching his tv show when I was a kid every morning on Saturdays. He can't be any more clear on what he posted.

I've personally never fished the tribute, but the fish are insanely close. It sounds like he was making the right call. If you've read my report we had YFT at 12 miles out of Long Beach. Don't bash em because you were expecting to be offshore that's ridonculous. I read the report of your trip and you guys did pretty fucking good dude why the bitching?

Somebody just looking for something for free and bitching about it. Too bad. Go to the grocery store.

Haha I don't want to derail the thread, but I think Dan was the first one broadcasting SoCal fishing before Inside Sportfishing and Kovach?

Anyways I'm surprised someone's bitching because they "weren't" offshore, but ended up kicking the shit out of fish on the tribute according to reports of his trip. What an idiot lmao

I fished an overnight boat on the same day and the fish were close and not far offshore as you seem to think an "offshore" style trip is. In fact the intel at the time being shared by the captains indicated that the fish further down the line were not biting as well. Its not WFO every trip and sometimes can be hard to find a school willing to bite or a kelp holding fish. Don't post on here expecting sympathy points if anything you've only made yourself sound like an ignorant ass! We've all had our share of disappointing trips but hopefully yor learned something such as new knots and picking the right baits and what type of gear might help you on your future trips. Don't expect handouts, expect to put in some effort to have a trip of a lifetime.

I only respect people who can take both positive and negative comments. A customer should be able to expect quality products ad customer service when they paid full price. It is not only about catching fish. Tribute sportfishing blocked me from posting a review on their Facebook page. Administrator please close this thread.

Slightly more readable, yet no where near constructive again. Did you catch fish bro? Or did you weep in the galley the whole time? "Administrator please close this thread". You brought it on yourself, deal with it..

This may be an ESL issue. Ive been on that boat and they sure do hustle. The captain is VERY experienced the reality is the fishing close to home has been WIDE OPEN. He missed, it happens.

Valid question, except that we're not the captain of a charter fishing vessel. One of the things we pay for is the expertise of the captain and crew... both the knowledge and the ability to put us on fish (CATCHING them is left up to us). Although the OP's vague and ambiguous post uses a whole lot of words without actually saying anything, which makes me think he probably doesn't have a valid complaint. He sounds like the kind of guy who'd bitch if we hung him with a BRAND NEW rope.

I think the administrators are all out fishing the wide open local tuna bite.
