Dropped the old 67 glasspar in the water today at 7:30 and pounded some sand with Shitbird. It's been a while................

Headed south and dropped em in 40 minutes later, hoping for one good biter. Worked my spots with a dredge and dodger rig. At 9:30 Shitbird get's hit hard and it's game on. Used the boat to plane her up and she's heavy....very heavy. Managed to not cock up the gaff shot and a big she fish hit the deck. It was was one of those moments that keep you coming back for more. We had a hard time holding her for the pics. And the knees and all else was shaking like a leaf. It was SWEEEEET.

Long story short, the blue uv dredge was on fire today. Hit some structure south and the sand bass wouldn't keep off it. So we headed back north to target flatties again.

About noon broke out the machaca burritos for lunch. Sure enough, Shitbird get's bit just as we are digging in. She was heavy too, but came unbuttoned halfway up. Up comes a 12 inch sandbass we had been dragging around
(not knowing it) with big teethmarks just below the gills.

Got a 12lb flattie 30 minutes later. Called it a day at 2:00 and headed for the barn. Total fish count was something like 10 sandies, 1 calico, 3 short flatties, and 2 legals. Most everything on that one rig.

Back at the ranch, the biggun weighed in at 41.9 lbs. Shirbird got his personal best and joined the 40lb club too. The smile says it all.

It just does not get much better than this!!!!!

Now we just need to get Herbert another 40lb fish tomorrow lol.......

    Tight Lines All,

    Rick
