    Fished today with Herbert.

Dropped her in at 7:30 after working through the sand soccer crowd at the harbor. Hit some structure south of the pier and had a 90lb T-shark eat the b-ball rig. Had her almost to deep color and the line broke. Which was no big whoop because we were going to release her anyways. Plus we realized both of the gaffs were still in the back of the truck at the parking lot :smash:

Made the short run back in to retrieve them and headed south in nice flat seas. Truth be told, I've stunk it up big time trying to catch the flat ones lately. And I keep working many spots that produced well this time of year in the past for no joy whatsoever. Herbert reminded me for the upteenth time the definition of insanity is doing the same thing twice expecting different results. Been thinking the same myself.

So we kept pounding sand and finally got a biter at 12:00 on the tide swing. Not a huge fish but maybe 10lbs. She was gorgeous and at least wifey won't be buying tillapia for a while. That was it for us but it was all good.

    Tight Lines!

    Rick

    Nice fish Rick,

Now that you busted the slump, will you leave the gaff's in the truck?
