Cool thread,

I've got Gramps Winchester model 1890 .22 WRF, really fun to shoot when I can find ammo, I've got a few boxes stashed.

and my great Gramps deer rifle, a Springfield model 1888 in 30-40 Krag, never shot it

I think both are from around 1900-1910

Does anyone know anything about the 30-40 Krag?

I have a custom rifle built on a 03-A3 action that was my grandfathers, then my father's, and now mine. I have done even more custom options to it like putting a custom trigger, scope, modifying the action, bolt, etc.

Fully customized 1903A3 Springfield so I guess only the action is original. My Grandfather had the original work done by a custom gunsmith, then it was passed to my father then to me and I had it upgraded with a Canjar trigger, and scope mounted. It is a tack driver grouping 3 shots touching at one hundred yards with the 200 grain boattail bullets; its' favorite load.
