Hopes this helps. 92 mile round trip. North 9 to 302 to 371 to 425 to Coronados. Best area I ran across was the north 9 area straight out of mission bay. Two small kelps with jumping dorado. 2-3 mile outside north 9 found puddling smaller yellowfin. Threw everything we had at them & trolled around them for nothing. Long boat ride after that. Found great looking kelps 7-8 near 371 south with birds on them. All kelps have micro bait on them With no fish. Saw 2 dorado. Stopped at coronados on the way home. Fun yellowtail fishing. Seals were brutal. Beautiful conditions and didn’t break anything.
p.s. saw Ali and his camera crew heading to get some bait as we were leaving the bait barge. I yelled and waved. He probably thought I was crazy! Not sure he knows he is famous? Finding my own fish did not work today.
