A great month of October here in Bahia Asuncion. First of all my son was down for a visit for most of the month and we were able to get on the water every day and were treated with some great fishing for Yellowtail, tuna and other exotics. I did not do much Yellowtail fishing as my preference is to head offshore and look for the more exotic pelagics. I had some success on the yellows stopping at some of my spots on the way to the tuna grounds but unfortunately had to sort through 10 jumbo Bonito for every yellow.
Tuna and Dorado fishing was pretty good. Usually not limit style fishing but certainly enough to keep you coming back for more. The biggest surprise was being able to land 3 Wahoo in October. November is usually our best month for the skinnies and since I went 1 for 4 on them yesterday, November may still be the best. In the photos, the one with me holding the Hoo by my boat was the first and largest of the 3, coming in at 48 pounds. The other two were cookie cutter 37 pounds caught on the 30th and 31st.
Trifecta on the 30th.
