20170820_100936.jpg Took my father, father in law and oldest son out of oside around 6:30. No line for bait so we picked up a scoop of about 90% mixed sized macs.
Headed out south west to find the kid some yellowtail or dodo, ended up about 8 miles off Encinitas when we found our first paddy and my son got to pull on a 10-15 pound yellow, until It found the paddy and broke off, it happens, still stoked to see him fight for a while.
Water was about 70.5 all day until we headed in towards La Jolla and saw temps around 72.
Weather was great, seas were flat, beat was good all day, paddies were everywhere, but the fish didn't want to die today.
All in all, a great day on the water. 20170820_082208.jpg 20170820_120356.jpg

Nice job getting the boy out there! Did any of the other paddies have fish on them?

Total for the day was one hooked up yellow and two juvenile blue sharks. Saw all kinds of life, dolphins, flying fish, even an "oh my god Jay wtf is that" sun fish. No fish on any other paddies.

I don't have a tower. I just send some trollers out, stand on the seats and scan. Gets kinda squirrelly when its rough though.
