I have some clients to see in Honolulu in a couple weeks. I've got a day to burn in between meetings. Is there anything like our 3/4 party boats over there? I would love to get out fishing, but I'm not dropping monster cash for a private charter. Anyone have any contact numbers or websites?

the closest thing we have to what you are looking for short of your own exclusive charter would be this http://www.sportfishhawaii.com/bottomfishing.htm

i've gone on there before and got my drink on and had an ok time. if you can find a ride off the ho thread or pay for someone's fuel.

I have fished with Shannon a couple of times. He is from San Diego and "Gets it". He is a live bait guy and will try to put you in that scenario.

Call him and see if you can jump on a charter he has booked and split the costs. I don't remember the cost but I went solo once. Wianae is a short drive from Waikiki

Ditto here. Fished with Shannon twice about four years back. He runs a full day charter (o dark thirty to about 2pm), and used to book a "twighlight" .

He likes fishing with sticks from So Cal because most of his customers are tourists with no experience.

They can often fill a solo with group that has one for shared expense.

E-mail his wife Nami on their website.

And yes, buy all means, you need to make the drive from Waikiki up to North Shore. There is some fabulous scenery

    Aloha and Mahalo

I saw some mallards that looked more like Black Ducks on North shore in the shrimp ponds.(no spoonies sighted Carl).

Oh yeah Nate, when you make the drive up to north Shore you got to stop at the shrimp farm. They net a bunch for you then you take them to the roach coach parked outside and they cook em up.
Great eats with a Longboard Ale!
