The UFA report would give the troll caught breakdown, which I think had significant value, as well the LL fish ##'s from a what the rec guy has to compete against. I still look at the POP report periodically, just don't post as (I didn't feel) it doesn't carry the cost(effort)/benefit upside.
Please feel free to post the POP report if you want (maybe just add up the the ##'s), this sticky is here for anyone of us.
It's been awhile since I dropped fish at the block, it was nice to see the brine bin, and it was already iced. $2.70/lbs, bigger one, $3.20/lbs small one.
Yep that's what I've gotten!
So haven't been following much of the long line fleet activities/quotas/etc. It would appear to me that something is impacting the amount of LL fish brought to the market (maybe just timing). A month ago, when not much trolled caught fish were on the floor; we got "come p/u your marlin" and $1.75/lbs ahi.
The other night we dropped our fish off, when I first got there, there were 6-7 trucks in front of us; so we went and grabbed something from Nico's to grind on. After dinner went back over, the crowd had eased, did the deed and hele'd on (it was fairly crowded in the reefer).
Got $2.10 aku. $5.10 ahi. $7.50 mahi. From my limited experience those are pretty good prices, especially compared to a month ago. As well a friend dropped a marlin off the other day and got $4.40.
From middle August Ahi $5.50&$5.60, this past weekend Ahi $4.80. Better than a sharp stick in the eye.
got only 40 cents a pound for otaru yesterday. BS. all over 20 lbs. store still selling the poke at 15.99
Well don’t that effin suck!
How many pieces did you have? My friend at the block told me when local troll guys have over a certain amount they automatically assume you didn’t have enough ice and give shitty price.... always set minimum
Well if you fished the weekend and dropped for Monday's auction there were like 250 PC's of lrg aku on the block.
How much ice did you have? Aku will burn like an ahi. Not trying to be disrespectful just saying
That's also why we've been targeting mahi and ono. The prices are pretty good our 34 lb gg mahi got 8.00 and the 12 to 15 lb kine got 7 to 7.50. aloha
Heard no long line boats today. The one 98 lb ahi got 9.90 30 lb shibi got 7.40. lrg aku between 5.00 and 3.90.
Dropped a 98 lb ahigg last night got 11.90 a lb at todays auction
The report I read somewhere is the LL fleet is just not catching many BET right now; whatever the reason, now is the time. CONGRATS!!!
Thanks Pat yah now is the time to hopefully slay some late summer tunas!!!
Right on Steve. Hopefully this makes up for the sometimes low auction prices
Pat, hopefully you get one today to drop off
