The humiliation can last for weeks. Heckling from other smaller tuna and even Albacore laughing.

Very hard to say. Any giant fish with pics from different angles makes it difficult to guess. Obviously which helps realization. So from another angle the weight would look different. Size of fins help allot though and corner of mouth. The pic is from nose down. Pics of a big fish for example can look 250# from one angle and 300# from another angle as mentioned. I have examples of same fish pics from different angles wearing different clothes. Could be a mid 2 or a 3. Taped? Its a very nice fish

I'm no expert. But by looking at the line marks the fish was hooked deep and the gill is exposed. The fish looks stone dead in the eye. But I was not there and as mentioned pics can be deceiving

“ Looks Dead” never seen a Tuna you hold so lightly Gaff under the tail and and one in the dorsal. Makes me wonder. A Tuna must move a body length a second to not drown. He does look peaceful.
Certainly the fish is real and big no reason to doubt that, not like anyone is claiming 1200
Pounds. Great Day for sure to run into that one.

Go look at ksongs' thread in the PEI reports section. Nice video there. Not sure if it is the same fish but you can see the c&r technique
