I took the boat out of the slip and went about 1/2 mile off south Mission Bay Jetty for 2 hours of solid fishing. Several Rockfish, a Sculpin, 4 Sand Bass one legal and 23 Calico's with 5 legals to 19". I setup on Red Crab in 80' or so and drifted down and in for some steady catching.

The water was not that good and I marked only bait. But fishing was as good as I can remember for that spot. A lot of the Calico were suspended and bit on the wind in.

This fish had the digested fish stuck in its gullet and the Red Crab in its mouth when it bit. They were hungry and feeding on Red Crab.

Good luck Cody It was over at this spot about 1 pm when the wind came up and the bait disappeared.

Sounds like a damn good time. Did all the fish come on hookup baits?

All on the artificial s, saving money for warmer waters and rockcod.
