Your in the right column to start your Search in. Ensenada, about an hour south of the border, has decent YT, but sporadically until it lights up steadily about July or August. Read up on San Quintin here. Lot of guys drive the extra 4-5 hours (never been YET) with very good reports. In ENS, pangas can run maybe $250+. Private charters $350+. Prices are based largely on the current bite. Party boat is about $70, which would include you MEX fishing license. You provide your own water, sodas, beer, food. Almost all boats will provide the rods/reels and tackle, and all fish cleaning is included. Its considered appropriate to tip well based on your service received. Boats depart at 0700hrs each morning. Reservations are welcomed, however open party bookings can be made morning of (groups of 3 or more should call in advance just to give a better head count for size of boat needed for everybody wanting to go out that day). Boats return back to docks about 2:30-3p.m. Seeing that you show Campo as your hometown, a word of insight: you might want to consider plans that you get in town the evening before heading out, and staying the night after fishing. The drive will tire you out before 10a.m. and thinking you could just cross back north easily the same day just doesn't happen without feeling like you're falling asleep at the wheel, even with SENTRI. Motels can be found for about $30/single. Hotels run maybe twice or 3X as much. Parking for the fleet is fairly safe, costs about $10 for the day. A little hard to describe where its located (really very close to the docks), but parking for party boats (Sergio's Sportfishing) can be found right at his doorstep ($Free). Hope this gets you started.

Vonny's out on Punta Banda, you can look up his facebook page. Beach launched pangas for bottom fish, halibut, bass and yellowtail. Skippers speak English, his brother runs a nice campground at the spot the pangas are launched in the morning making it easier.....just hop in when they arrive in the morning.

I seriously thought about that , but it’s 1700-2000 for a private trip , I really don’t mind spending money to go fishing, I just don’t want to spend that kind of money

Try Gamefisher here in Ensenada. He does open parties for inshore at less than $100 pp on his offshore 48'. Very roomy walk around and if there is room you can sleep on the boat the night before. Great guy and knows how to fish and regular limits.

Best way to get ahold of him is thru Facebook. I fish with him regularly when he will have me

+1 for gamefisher ...Mike charges around $1200 last time I talked to him. You'll get your moneys worth as he stays on the water all day and then some looking for the bite.

Me, a buddy, and his little bro went down several week's ago and had a great time getting quality rockfish. Everything was great except the wind, Skipper was the man tho', we caught a lot of fish, filled the freezer.

Special credit to the skipper for setting the drift perfect to bump it in reverse to keep us straight up and down over the stones in good wind. Caught more rocks in 5 or 6 hours than I ever have total. We were optimistically hoping for YT, but happy for rockfish of that quality. Thankful for the 2 speed for sure.

On the ride in, I saw a bird-nado about 3/4 miles away. The skipper got us a shot with jigstick irons, but the birds disbersed and whatever it was sunk out when he had our shot. I'd like to think it was YT.

We had such a great time, that we are going with a couple of buddies in a few weeks. We are gonna stay in the cabins this time too, before fishing, then after. Do you have to bring a sleeping bag?

Do you think the YT or WSB will be goin', or is it too early in your opinion?

Is there any advice you can give us to better our odds at YT or WSB? We are bringing frozen squid, and lots if ice. Bringing heavy yo-yo jigs, sakikis, and chum for makin maks.

Appreciate any advice you have for us, Mike.

    Thanks!

Used to go just below Ensenada to santo Tomas all the time with the shogun crew...
Commercial guys there would take us out ... Full speed calicos lots of cruising seabass and often yellows on the outer high spots in the bull kelp...
Had one near disaster t- "bone incident in the fog there once but otherwise always had incredible times...
Would bring American beer and porno mags for those guys and they would load us up with bugs for nighttime feasts...
Heard it is a meth den now and not fit for humans anymore.... if true very sad..?
    Anyone see it recently?
