Someone still needs to buy my old truck bed rocket launcher!

Got my new aluminum flatbed installed a few weeks ago. Had a custom fabricated rod tray built under the flatbed itself. 8.5" L X 42.75" W X 4.87" D. I hit TAP Plastics today and picked up some 1" starboard. Laid the rods out, made a few marks, and the. Busted out my dado blade. The butt grove is 1.5" deep while the tip groove is 1" deep. It holds 7 rods in each direction. Im going to line the bottom and sides with some 1/4" gym flooring to keep things from getting scratched/dinged.

All loaded.

Now you don't...

And, yes. I will be adding a lock.

Bwahahahahhahaha. Yeah, I had this built to catch one fish per trip, two months out of the year...

Plus, those spaghetti sticks are usually two-piece :)

Looks awesome Laurence. That flatbed looks like it would work for a couple of sleds for some winter fun too.

Weren't you looking for something "simple"??

That is really cool! Where did you get that made? I am waiting to buy a tow rig till the end of the year. A chassis cab with flatbed would be my first choice if I could get it past the committee. We had a GMC 5500 4x4 with a steel flat bed, Much more useful than always worrying about scratching paint.

Dieselwerx, out of Cle Elum. Brett was pretty laid back and excited about the custom mod.

Felt would be nice, but I need something that'll shed the bit of water this will see from time to time. LOL

Really nice. Love it. Does the drawer lower when fully extended? Maybe it's just the angle of the first picture.

Is there a rear gate to hold in totes of ice or fish? That's a ton of LEDs. Like the tuna on the hitch.
Cheers

It's just a tray slid under the bed. Sides are 3" tall, so it's pretty well protected, but no practical way to keep everything out. I'm not worried about road spray getting on them. They deal with far more salt water every time they are used.

This one is 9' long, which is about how long it was to the back of the old bumper. So I'm getting a bit more bed length from this. And obviously tons more width,

I really like that.

Is your tail pipe aimed directly at the mud flap? You're going to need a turn-down tip. EGT's push 1000 degrees during DPF Regen.

I bought a MBRP 5" turn-down via Amazon sink could use my Rick Tamers without melting them.

Gonna have the tail pipe bent inboard, so it's going straight back. Nick is building me two more tool boxes to go behind the rear wheels. Then I'll see what I need to do as far as mud flaps.

If I were trailering, the rods would be in the boat.
