At first I though JTE was just aggressive. He's just a eastcoaster thowing out his ideas based on his experience there, I think he is slowly learning a little more about everything westcoast. On both coasts things change in regulations and what's biting currently. What was true twenty years ago in not necessarily true today.

I pesonally like all the banter. Gives me something to read. Face it, the best threads are when an outsider can troll and hook-up a few locals.

But then my wife said “you’re getting drunk, tone it down” (had a tooth pulled this afternoon and pounded a big bottle of 12% from a Charleston brewery), so, I say: I like you SD guys too, I can take a punch and dish it out too. I purchased 4 cheap spinning rods today. 3 are 2 piece and the rod that came with a reel is one piece. $223 total

Did find a 2 piece 9 foot rod rated for 4lb Ugly Stick.

The rod with a reel. Found in a hardware store in the middle of nowhere. Smaller then a 7/11. $66 dollar combo. At first tried to buy just the rod but realized. I want the reel also

I was reserving fish procesding at 5Star for my 2023 trips. The same day button is grayed out for all trips. Fishermans website I didnt even see they offered

Im just getting back into the sport. Had two trip planned, but one canceled last year,not by me. It happens! I just called them last week and they gladly took my same day reservation for the two trips I have booked so far. Hope this help! Good luck!

Quick update. I called 5star and reserved same day for my 4 trips.

Saw this and called yesterday. Wasn't available when I made my reservation a few months ago, was available yesterday so I switched to same day.

Take what you need and release the rest. Always an option unless it's lodged in the throat. Tip the crew well. They work hard to make it all happen.
