With his kind of mindset, can you imagine being his roommate on a two day plus trip???
its A simple thing Right ,no one is holding A gun to your
head , to go on A Trip in the first place ,
the best thing to do is stay home and simple SCREW yourself .

Yeah, so now you guys who drive, not only have to pay for processing but also for expensive air freight shipping, get screwed on the processing yield, and you probably won’t see that fish for at least a month. If I was driving, I’d be cutting off heads and tails and gutting on my tailgate in the parking lot, signs on dumpsters and redshirts be damned. But yeah, I’m a little bit “disrespectful” and don’t take it lightly when someone tries to rip me off.
Bet you wouldn't though.

If I catch em, I cut em............lesser fisherman need not apply.
I am in favor of you doing it your way, and of you posting a video of your superior fish carcass processing skills.

What I did when I was processing my fish was to make a slush tank to bring the frozen fish to a workable temperature. The bigger the fish, the longer it needs to thaw. Sometimes several days. RSW fish are a whole lot easier but first day fish usually are frozen to keep from spoiling.

Who knows… JTE may have another way to hack off the heads. Hmmmm….

I like just paying to process now.

One trip,11 day, on Independence. I flew from Florida, so no option to do my own processing. Guarantee if I lived close enough to drive I’d either do full on processing or cut heads/tails/gut before I left the parking lot, red shirts or whoever be damned. No one cuts fish better than me. I’ve been cutting fish for over 50 years, and the trip I took on the Indy is the first time anyone other than myself took a knife to a fish I caught other than my dad when I was 12 years old. And none of you SD pantywaists are gonna convince me to do it otherwise. You guys saying otherwise are just spoiled and inept at cutting fish.

Repeat, what’s been said many times, fish coming out of real, functioning RSW, are NOT frozen.

Jer, you got a problem you’d like to discuss with me face to face? Bring it, I’d be happy to make arrangements to meet. Put up or shut up Dick.

username, bet I would, $500. Pay for my plane fare and we’ll see.

dtf, I have no interest in being your roommate, on a boat or otherwise, sorry.

I was reserving fish procesding at 5Star for my 2023 trips. The same day button is grayed out for all trips. Fishermans website I didnt even see they offered reservs.
I’ve always received my fish from 5 star same day anyways without “same day” reservations.

Jer, glad you got a laugh out of it, I did too.
Start a go fund me here on BD,
I used to do my own fish all the time back in Massachusetts, and for years out here,
But dealing with the mess and all the carcasses, it makes it easier to have it all processed.

No need for a go fund me, I’ve got plenty of my own money, could go on another LR trip anytime if I wanted to. Not gonna pay to come out and “spar” with a boat full of SD douchebags.

LR trip: Didn’t care for all the “boat riding”, drunk jerkoffs on the rail that couldn’t figure out how to get out of the way when someone had a fish on, and to top it off couldn’t cut my own fish resulting in crappy cuts and minimal yield. Food was good, but I can go to a really nice restaurant (better food) for a lot less than the $500/day I spent to be on that boat. Plus, my wife is an excellent chef and we cook our own fish at home. LR is not really my style. I have my own boats, don’t need to deal with it. Next charter I do will be key west for swordfish, just me and my wife. Then wahoo out of San Salvador, want to break 100 lb (biggest so far is a 97, numerous 60 to 80s).

Tuna, yellowfin or bluefin, are not in my top 10 eating fish, so no need to come to SD to fish for them. I fish for fish I’m gonna eat, and harvest responsibly. Top ten for me is wahoo, cobia, tripletail, pompano, groupers (several types), snapper (red, mangrove, hog and yellowtail). Tunas are “edible”, not crazy about your yellowtails either - same as our amberjack, which we don’t bother to boat.

You sure spend a lot of time on here talking considering how much you apparently don’t care about it.

Yes… the shorter trips are all RSW. I am talking about 14-16 day trips. The RSW does not work well for the longer trips. The longer trips have less people and specialize on trips further down for bigger tuna. Sorry your trip was a bummer. We have 3 slammers full of bait for the long trips. On the 4th travel day they move the bait around to get 1 frozen fish hold. There is a limit you can keep RSW fish without spoiling. Usually a second frozen slammer happens with the third could be RSW.
I agree with you about the eating quality of the fish we catch and the travel to the area fished is long… (4 days) Just a different game played.
