Since president Amlo came into to power, your existing license is still valid , If you don't have a license that is not expired the pay daily $11.00 dollars.I am pretty sure they will get this fixed in a bit.My license is good through June.If I saw this coming I would have got another annual a month ago. This info is from FONMAR in La Paz which controls all of Baja Sur fishing permits. As of right now only daily permits are being issued.I am quoting what I just in the news.

    Lame.

If I’m in town for three weeks but I’m not sure which or how many days I wish to fish... so you purchase daily on line?

Taxing recreation is evil. Govts, especially CA has become over the top in either fees or taxation on enjoying life.

Fishing and hunting license sales are not a tax. They are the reason the US has such great fishing and hunting available to everyone, not just rich landowners.

Now, terrible implementation of license fees, political shenanigans and unequal partitioning of the resources between commercial and private fisherman are another story!!!

By definition, it is a tax to the extent that the aggregate "fees" exceed the aggregate cost of use.

Well, it’s their water, their resources, their country. I appreciate the fact that fishing down there is even an option. I don’t think the gringo gripe is going to work in our favor.

Yes that's true ,but my gripe is valid as they marked up annual fishing pass from $60+ to 4k a year ?not to mention the hassle of all the compliance .If your cool with that you must have some deep pockets and patients to spare . Ive grown up here in San Diego and it has been nice to have the option to get out to fish local Mexican waters after work or on a short window without the compliance hassle that is being implicated.

ONE COULD BUY A NICE FISHING BOAT FOR $4300.00.
THE AVERAGE GUY WHETHER IT BE A MEXICAN NATIONAL
OR AN AMERICAN GRINGO WOULD HAVE A HARD TIME COMING UP WITH THIS INCREASE.
