Duramax/Allison trans. or AAA / R.V. upgrade BTW I like your Avatar.(you kinda asked for it?)

No but the Tundra seems like it would work for what you mentioned. I test drove and thought real hard about buying one........The only thing that stop me from getting one was I could buy my new 2500HD 4x4 LT3 for less money. And I was worried about the towing cap. Ive seen the Tundra for 50K+!!. If I was pulling a bass boat or bayrunner I would buy the Toyota or an SUV. But I hope you get a B.D. hyookup cuz 50K is too much loot for that truck IMO. They are sweet lookin little truck though. good luck. Yes I'm a brainwashed Chevy guy now:D and I like it.

Well, I would recommend doing what I did... Drive them both.
I drove the Ford, Dodge, Chevy and Toyota then drove the Titan.
Hands down, without a doubt I bought the Titan and I have not been dissapointed in the least. Best vehicle I have ever owned, bar none.
My boat weighs just under #5000 with my Tuna gear. First time I towed with the Titan I thought my boat had shrunk. It tows like a dream and is a joy to drive. I am very impressed with the suspension too. Unlike what someone else said about the suspension, try it for yourself. Try a speedbump without slowing down, it is impressive. Big 10" vented disk brakes on all corners, never a problem stopping a load. loads of room, best in class imnsho. If you are taking 20 hour road trips with 3 other big men, this is your truck (Crew Cab).
As far as the 4x4... I have pushed mud with the bumper and have pulled my boat out of steep ramps at low tide, never an issue. On slick roads I have to be careful, especially on ice. Other cars just can't stop as fast and I have often had to speed back up to avoid getting rear ended. They were designed in Mississippi and the only part of the truck that comes from Japan is the transmission.
No matter what you hear in this thread or abroad... drive them both for yourself. You will know which one to pick.

5000 lbs is still half ton towing range. Remember that you can add a couple thousand pounds between the trailer, fuel, water and gear. Might be a good idea to hit a scale while fully loaded to see what you are really towing.

Neither of the boats you mention (current or future aluminum) will need much more than 5,000 lbs tow capability. If you need to get your wire's buy in, you might consider the Honda Ridgeline. I think a Tacoma or Frontier with a V6 will tow 5K and you will get better mileage to boot.

Unless you need the bed, I would look at the SUV bodies on these chasis, as they will be more flexible.

I know plenty of rednecks with Corvettes.

and those two cars arent even comparable.

the guy in the z06 might be .3 seconds faster around the track but the guy in the Ferrari still goes home in a Ferrari and the guy in the vette goes home in a Chevy.

i worked at nissan... the only worked i ever did to the titan was brake recalls and installed cool finned diff cover because they were getting hot and making the paint flake off

    the brakes suuuucccckkkk

the titan has a good outside to it but i feel all nissans have a cheap interior

toyota i feel has a better fit and finish

    but my real opinion....

if your gonna tow BUY A DIESEL

    REAL TRUCKS DONT HAVE SPARKPLUGS

The new trucks are very sweet. no matter which one you buy.

One thing however ,, you might want to check out the auctions of Chevy and fords.

A 72 chevy short bed 4X4 W/V8 frame off resto lifted just 2 inches, 100% factory resto was sold for $22,000.00,, the rest is history.

    Just a thought

    about the same MPG
