I will not disclose the location of where I hunt waterfowl but we are seeing a lot of nice odd ball ducks for our area this season.

I shot a canvasback, redhead, pintail, mallard drake, cinnamon teal, ring neck, scaup and widgeon.

My partner shot a Black scoter, wood duck, 3 widegeon, snow goose, canadian goose and 10 coots.

Sold my Parker. You can find me on the Red Rooster.
Can you reveal how you prepare the scoter and coots to eat? From my experience they just aren't good on the table and you have plenty of other ducks and geese...

I prepare the coots as jerky to feed to my dog as treats. If I do want to eat them I will soak them in milk overnight than I will soak them in balsamic vinegar dressing and then grill them. They aren't to bad to eat.
