Nice lil free come up

So out-of-the blue. A buddy calls me and says hey. My dad's gonna toss. Bunch fishing stuff out he has laying around. Wants to see if u want it. 5 nets, few brand new nice reels, a nice calstar 5ft6in 30-80lb stick like new. 4 old San Diego giant maps, bunch of line, lures, hooks, jigs. Trout and salmon stuff. Haven't went through it all but really like the lil calatar. Reminds me of Ed Colemans albacore rods, short and sweet. Here's few pics. Any info on anything like the rod would be welcomed. I blew up my truck motor yesterday. So trips are gonna be slow fir. Minute. Maybe. Some pics were blurry so couldn't add them. But not bad lil freebie.

I think those old Woodchoppers are collectible. The newer copies are popular for Peacock bass down in the Amazon basin.

The 5’6” 30-80 is considered a baby boomer right? Or is it same specs as baja boomer? Either way a great yo yo rod for 50lb.

Those flashers will come in handy if you like targeting halibut.

Lots rock cod fly jigs. They have 3 hooks but can easily cut one off. My dad and brother use these. I make my own cod jigs out lead. Some pretty cool stuff. I'm more interested in this lil calstar. Its a wc-655h-c 5.5ft 30-80lb bait stick. Is this something still used or is it a collection rod. Or is it still gd to use for something. My buddy Ed Coleman had short lil rods like this he used fir albacore trolling. Usually clipped on rope and clips hanging off back boat or fir tye shorter lines. Was fun using them.

My only 3 bluefin 50lb and one 60lbs was on the Baja boomer and sealine 900h trolling cedar plugs in morro Bay last November. I drug them in like top water lures lol.. I've upgraded alot gear but can't seem to get another lol. But I'm still trying.

Any 4/0 size reel with the drag capacity for 50-60lb line. Still a good yo yo and dropper loop set up. Can troll with it too.

Beautiful condition 4/0. That #9 pierless is one little tank that’s for sure. Rad old school little reels. I still fish one on an old silaflex. And have another original white handled #9 new in box. Solid little reels! Great find. Yea that calstar can catch the world. Good grouper rod down south. You can pull on that till your arms fall off! Great gift/blessing! Awesome come up!

I been out at Catalina almost every wk end til last. I've got everything needed. I still can't get any dang fish lol. I'm looking fir used motor or just another truck. Depends. All I need is something to pull the boat. Until then I hit buddies with trucks. I'll be out nxt wk end hoping to catch a bf and Dorado. Lol.
